How Long Do You Cook A Turkey - Cooking Techniques-good methods

Stuffed Baked Turkey

Stuffed baked turkey The USDA recommends that in order to get a evenly cooked turkey, the filling should be baked outside the turkey. But if you insist on filling the turkey, fill it loosely and follow these steps:

1. Preheat oven to 325 °f. Check the wrapper label to see how much the turkey weighs and determine the approximate baking time (see table below). Remove the bags from the chest and neck of the turkey cavity. Wash the turkey inside and out and pat the skin dry using paper towels.

2. Mix the filler and place it in the cavity without tightening, Use ½ to ¾ Cup for each pound of Turkey. It is better to use little padding than to use too much. The filling expands when cooked. Store any amount of filler in the refrigerator and push in a greased saucepan one hour before removing the turkey.

3. Place the turkey with the breast up on a rack in a shallow baking pan (about 2 inches deep). Insert a meat thermometer into the thigh (see section Safety in Turkey Preparation: using the thermometer) pour up to ½ cup of water at the bottom of the mold, if desired.

4. Cover the turkey with thick aluminum forming a loose carp. Baking a stuffed turkey takes longer. For example, baking a 20-pound stuffed turkey will take 4 ¼ to 5 ¼ hours. (see table below).

5. Remove the aluminum tent after 1½ hours to allow the skin to brown. If desired, rub the turkey with vegetable oil to obtain a better browning of the skin.

6. A whole turkey will be ready when the temperature in the thickest part of the thigh reaches 180 º F and the filler Mark 165 º F. Juices from the thickest part of the thigh should come out clear (not pink) when pierced with a carving fork.

7. Check the internal temperature of the filler. Insert the thermometer into the thickest part of the cavity filler and leave it there for about 5 minutes. Or use an instant-read thermometer that will record the temperature in 15 seconds. The filling temperature will rise a few degrees after the turkey is removed from the oven. If the center of the filler has not reached 165 º F after leaving the Turkey to the environment for the required time, return to the baked payment and continue to Horneándolo until the filling reaches the recommended temperature.

8. Leave the turkey to the environment for about 20 to 30 minutes before removing the filling and carve to allow the juices to saturate the meat evenly.
